4 Reasons Our Clients Love Juvederm Voluma
I’ve had the tremendous privilege to help our clients throughout the Grand Rapids, MI area make educated decisions as to which dermal filler will best suit their needs. Let’s be clear – when it comes to dermal fillers, there’s not a one-size-fits-all solution.

Allergan’s product, Juvederm Voluma was created to restore lost facial volume in the cheeks, chin and cheekbones. As I discuss the pros and cons for Voluma,there are typically 4 reasons why our clients choose this product.
1. Staying Power. If you’ve had experience with dermal fillers, you’re likely keenly aware that the typical desired results last anywhere from 9-12 months with the occasional need for “touch-up” treatments at 6 months. One of the biggest advantages to Juvederm Voluma is that it has been clinically proven to last up to 2 years with optimal treatment. This more than doubles the length of time that patients enjoy from most dermal fillers, which means less trips to the office (although, we still would love to see you), more bang for your buck, and increased confidence…for longer!
2. Your body is familiar with it. Juvederm Voluma is a sterile, biodegradable, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic, clear, colorless, homogenized gel implant. Phew! Now that the scientific stuff is out of the way, let’s talk in English. This dermal filler option is made of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is the same material found in your skin and your joints. HA is a naturally occurring hydrating substance; one that we start to lose as we age, which causes the skin to lose structure and volume. This filler option is a perfect solution for patients who feel their lower eyes have a hollowed out appearance and/or their cheeks aren’t as plump as they used to be. It is a perfect non-surgical option for facial rejuvenation, and is the only FDA-approved filler to temporarily correct age-related volume loss in the cheek area.
3. Turn up the volume. I already gave away the third main reason why our clients love Juvederm Voluma. As the name implies, Juvederm Voluma adds volume to the cheeks. It is uniquely formulated to add volume to all 3 areas of the cheek (Zygomaticomalar, Anteromedial, and submalar). The fact that this product consists of crosslinked hyaluronic acid offers clients the opportunity to “reverse” it if they don’t like the results (don’t worry, we’re quite confident you’ll LOVE the results). While you’ll likely have no desire to “reverse” the procedure, it’s comforting for many patients to know they have the option.
