Ideal Candidate for a Chemical Peel

People with reasonably healthy skin are the best candidates for chemical peels. Not sure if your skin is “reasonably healthy?” Don’t worry—we’ll discuss that during your initial consultation.

Aging Skin

Chemical peel facial treatments can be a great way to manage aging skin. They can be formulated to target fine lines, mild to moderate wrinkles, skin laxity, age spots and more.

Skin Discoloration & Pigmentation

Tackle tough-to-treat skin discoloration and spots with HydraFacial®. It can be customized with medical-grade serums to address pigmentation or used in conjunction with other skin discoloration treatments like chemical peels and IPL Therapy.

Acne & Acne Scars

Spots and bumps caused by acne breakouts can be hard to manage on your own. Chemical peels can be a great way to reduce mild to moderate acne breakouts and acne scars.

Dry or Dehydrated Skin

Along with proper home care, some chemical peels may help to balance dry or dehydrated skin by sloughing off old dry dead skin cells and improving the strength of your lipid barrier.

Overall Skin Health

For those who wish to maintain glowing and more youthful-looking skin, chemical peels can be a great way to keep already healthy skin looking fabulous.

What to Expect During A Chemical Peel

During your initial consultation, your provider will walk you through what to expect during your procedure. With most chemical peels, patients report little to no discomfort. However, there are many different types of peels, and some can create an uncomfortable sensation on the skin both during and after treatment.

Downtime associated with chemical peels varies according to which type of treatment is received. Many patients will experience some redness and flaking of the skin following a chemical peel, but many do not. Further downtime depends on many factors such as the skin concern being treated, the patient’s tolerance to the peel, and the chemical formulation of the peel. During your consultation, your provider will discuss the different chemical peel options as well as the common side effects following those treatments.
