Microneedling in Grand Rapids, MI

Microneedling is a perfectly safe treatment when performed by a licensed provider in a medical facility like Centre for Pure Skin. As an accredited medical facility, we are required to meet the highest standards of health and safety. The SkinPen® device comes with a single-use, sterile needle cartridge and protective sheath that has been made with your safety in mind. People that are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have some other medical conditions should not receive microneedling. We will discuss your medical history during your initial consultation to ensure that this procedure is right for you. 

Most people will receive at least three initial treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. SkinPen® microneedling can be part of ongoing skin health measures, so you may find that you’ll want to do another round of treatments once a year or every couple of years. 
 

Because the results of your SkinPen® treatments are tied to your skin’s own natural healing process, it can be slightly different for everyone. Most patients will begin to see the most noticeable results within 6 to 8 weeks following their last treatment. 

The results of your treatments will be the most noticeable for around 6 months following the completion of your treatment sessions. We strongly encourage patients to follow a home care regimen that includes medical-grade skincare products for more dramatic and lasting outcomes. 

When PRP is used during a SkinPen session, the blood is drawn into a small tube, put into a centrifuge, and spun to separate the nutrient-rich plasma from the blood. This plasma is then used in the procedure and is thought to induce a greater healing response for more dramatic and longer lasting results. 

Most patients will receive at least three microneedling treatments with PRP at each session if they choose to include it in their treatment package. 
 

Just like microneedling without PRP, this is somewhat dependent on your own unique body chemistry. However, most patients will begin to see results during the first month following treatment. 

While not technically proven, it is believed that microneedling with PRP can induce a greater healing response, speed up the outcome of the treatment, reduce healing time, and prolong results. This is based on long term applications of PRP in other medical procedures. 

Fractora™ combines pin tip microneedling with fractionated radio frequency technology. It penetrates a slightly deeper layer of the skin and is intended for patients with more moderate skin concerns such as skin laxity, wrinkles, and cystic acne scars. It works by creating controlled pin tip ablations and emitting heat into the deeper layers of skin to trigger the skin’s healing response

Fractora™ is considered to be a safe microneedling treatment and can treat a wide range of skin types and shades with minimal risk of PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation). 

Most patients will look red, feel warm, and could experience some mild swelling following the procedure for a period of about 2-4 days.   

It really depends on each individual patient and the severity of their concerns. Some will experience a great outcome with only one treatment while others may require up to six.

Results may begin to appear within the first few days following treatment with the most noticeable results around six weeks. 

This is dependent on each individual patient. The results can be long term for those who continue to make their overall skin health a priority by taking measures to prevent further damage.
