Searching for a minimally invasive facial treatment that pretty much does it all? Then microneedling might be right for you!
Microneedling has become a popular choice at the Centre for Pure Skin in Grand Rapids, Michigan, thanks to its remarkable ability to enhance skin health and reduce visible signs of aging. This innovative treatment stimulates the skin's natural healing process, significantly increasing collagen and elastin production— essential components for achieving healthier, firmer, more youthful-looking skin. For many, microneedling is an attractive alternative or complement to facial injections and other anti-aging treatments. Unlike more invasive one time procedures, such as CO2 laser skin resurfacing, microneedling offers noticeable improvements through a series of sessions with minimal downtime. Patients can swiftly return to their daily activities, and the procedure is widely recognized as safe for all skin types and tones.
The ideal candidate for microneedling is an individual aged 18 or older with healthy skin. This person is committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and aims to improve their skin's appearance without undergoing a prolonged recovery period. They are also dedicated to following all treatment protocols and home care instructions, including the use of recommended skincare products and the careful avoidance of sun exposure.
Microneedling can be used to target fine lines and wrinkles all over the face, neck, and decolletage. Patients may notice a smoother appearance in just a few treatments.
Microneedling can help to even out your skin tone— especially if excessive redness is an issue. It can also help to smooth a rough and bumpy skin texture.
Time and gravity aren’t always friendly. Skin often shows its age with frustrating sagging and increased pore size. The boost of collagen synthesis from microneedling can help to improve skin laxity before it becomes a major concern and reduce the appearance of large pores.
From sun damage to melasma and acne scars, microneedling can help heal damaged skin and fade the look of discolorations and scars.
Microneedling can be a terrific treatment for maintaining the look of youthful and radiant skin long term, especially in the early 30s.

First, you'll visit our Grand Rapids office for an initial consultation. In this session, we will attentively listen to your concerns and assess whether microneedling is suitable for your needs. We’ll guide you through the available microneedling options, set clear expectations, and craft a personalized treatment plan. Pricing will be discussed openly to ensure transparency from the beginning. Each microneedling package includes a specifically formulated product regimen, integral to the procedure’s cost. Your technician will explain these products and how to use them to maximize the effectiveness of your treatment.
On the day of your procedure, we will allocate 1 to 3 hours to prepare your skin and complete the treatment. Photographs of your skin will be taken to maintain a comprehensive medical record. Microneedling involves creating controlled micro-injuries with tiny needles. To ensure your comfort, a topical numbing cream will be applied, and additional pain management solutions may be offered. Some patients opt to enhance their results with PRP (platelet-rich plasma). If included in your treatment plan, a small blood sample will be collected by our medical staff, akin to a routine lab test.
Although microneedling is considered to be non-invasive, some patients may experience discomfort, often described as a warm, prickly, or scratching sensation, with certain areas being more sensitive. Post-treatment, your skin may appear red and inflamed, a common reaction known as erythema, and might feel warm for several hours. We will provide specific aftercare instructions to help alleviate these sensations. Rest assured, the warmth and redness are temporary and typically begin to subside within a couple of days.
The total cost depends on the type of microneedling you receive and the total number of treatments needed for optimal results. Use our pricing tool to learn what an average Centre for Pure Skin patient pays for microneedling.
