Take these simple tips to lower your risk of bruising and prepare your skin for treatment.
- Skip Certain Supplements: Stop taking Omega-3, St. John’s Wort, Ginseng, Ginkgo Biloba, and Vitamin E 5 to 7 days before your visit.
- Avoid Blood-Thinning Medication: If your primary care provider approves, do not take aspirin or NSAIDs (like Excedrin, Aleve, Advil, Motrin, or Ibuprofen) 5 to 7 days prior.
- Consider Arnica: Begin taking homeopathic Arnica supplements two days before your scheduled appointment.
After Care Tips for Daxxify
Follow these post-care instructions strictly to keep the product from migrating and to minimize your discomfort.
For the first 24 hours:
- Do not lay flat or bend over for 4 hours following your treatment.
- Do not rub, scratch, or massage the injected skin.
- Do not wear a hat or sweatband. Keep all pressure off the treated areas.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and vigorous workouts.
- Apply ice for short periods to reduce swelling.
- Wait at least 1 hour before you gently apply makeup or topical Arnica cream.
For the first week:
- Do not use electronic skin care brushes on your face.
- Avoid all facials and chemical peels.
You can expect to see initial changes in 1 to 3 days, with the full effects of your treatment visible at 2 weeks. If you still notice unwanted muscle movement after 14 days, please call our office to schedule a follow-up appointment. Most treatment adjustments for Daxxify are made around the three-week mark.
